   Is it just me, or does his neck has two dots on the 7th fret? I thought there was only double dots on the 12th and 24th

    Its not just you. There are multiple dot layouts, depending on the brand/model.

    Usually it’s played in open tunings. BTW I love the tubescreamer with it.
